Practical Software for Recreational Aircraft Analysis and Design
What is AeroPAD
AeroPAD is an evolutive series of software that aids with the analysis and evaluation of recreational aircraft design.
AeroPAD.1 is the basic
version of the program. It has a simple conceptual approach
which allows
the user to
analyze and evaluate a design and
compare it
with others.
AeroPAD.1.1 is the basic
version
paired
with a calculator
which aids in the obtaination of calculations
necessary to complete a design. (in development)
AeroPAD.2
is the basic
version combined with a 3D drawing program that
helps the user to visualize
and perfect
the concepts of a design.
AeroPAD.1 was developed to be a simple, practical and accessible tool that allows amateur designers to understand, analyze and compare performance of aircraft designs. The software can also be used to conceptualize a new design, to estimate its performance and to make a comparative analysis.
One of our main goals was to make sure AeroPAD.1 would be a user-friendly program that is readily available to all pilots and homebuilders. Using standard recreational aviation vocabulary, the user need only to enter the basic data pertaining to his design or to a known model. All the results are calculated automatically, allowing the designer to estimate performance and to analyze the main parameters of a design.
Who Can Use AeroPAD
The AeroPAD
program was developed
to assist
the recreational sportplane enthusiast, especially designers and
homebuilders. It
is useful for:

A Simplified Conceptual Approach
AeroPAD.1 is based on a simple and logical approach that consists to determine the requirements of a given mission. A general configuration is seized for each of the following parameters: weight - propulsion - geometry - aerodynamics. From this database, the program calculates all the results that can estimate the performance of the design, such as all the speed range, the aerodynamics characteristics and the rate of sink and climb, etc. By an interactive process, it is simply matter of configuring these parameters and finding the most suitable configuration to the plane mission.
To assist this process, the user will find a complete Help that consist of a Content, a Glossary, and References that can guide, make the seizure easier and be a resource for comparison.
Besides this main window, we are offering four other ones that complete these informations :
|
Graphics : graphical view of data
|
Mission : coordinates of a complete flight mission
|
Cruise : estimation of range and endurance of cruise flight
|
Envelope : speed data
according to
a load factor |
